Steve and Brayden's Slip and Slide Adventures

With the nice weather today, Steve brought out the Slip and Slide. Don't worry, no Sicklers were injured in the making of this video...

My New Jeans Are Weighing Me Down!

I'm finally starting to fit into some of the heaps of clothes I have in my drawers! At my one month appoinment I was 9lbs exactly and was 21 inches. Still a little small, in the 30th and 40th percentiles, but I'm getting bigger! These are the new jeans that mommy bought me a few weeks ago (they are newborn size) and they finally fit, well, kind of.

One Month

It's hard to believe that Burke will be one month old this week. The time has gone incredibly fast. He's getting bigger by the minute and we are slowly adjusting to the new "schedule", or lack there of, in the house.

He's looking more and more like his daddy, although he does have a few features resembling his big brother, which I say come from his mommy. He's sleeping more and more at night, allowing us (me) about 3-4 hours between feedings at night. During the early morning and later in the day, he tends to want to eat more frequently, about every 2 hours it seems. Hopefully someday we'll be on a more set schedule. He's awake more and even started coo-ing just a bit here and there, which is super cute.

Brayden's doing great and very excited for his birthday, which is still a month away. There must have been a few birthdays at school in the past few weeks because almost every day he comes home with a few comments about his birthday and says his teacher "said it wasn't my birthday today." He'll be so excited when Ms. Cassie can finally say it is his b-day! He's having a zoo b-day party this year and is very excited.

Well, that's all from the Sickler household for now. Thanks again to everyone for all the nice cards, gifts and visits to our home, hospital, etc. We can't wait to return the favor someday.

Spring is finally here!

Well the weather has finally taken a turn for the better and we've been able to spend more and more time outside. We've taken a few trips to Kelley Park in Apple Valley, which is Brayden's new favorite hang out. As you can see from the pictures, Burke thoroughly enjoyed his nap time at the park too.

Happy Mother's Day

I had a great mother's day!

We started the day off at church, showing off our new addition, then we BBQ'd outside in the nice weather. I also got the "Burke" strand of my Mommy Bracelet. Now it's complete with both my boys on it.

Here's a picture of the bracelet and of me and my boys on Mother's Day.

Brotherly Love

Brayden loves his new baby brother. He wakes up every day asking for his baby brother and kisses him every night before bed. He's been a very sweet big brother.

Two Weeks Later

Burke turned two weeks old yesterday and although the time has flown by, we can barely remember a time without him. He's such a good baby and a great addition to our family. We are also very thankful for all the visitors we've had since we've been home and all the generous gifts, etc. people have given us. We have amazing friends and family. Burke seems to be adjusting well to life- he doesn't cry very often, but the crying pic was so cute, I had to post it. I think we'll keep him!

Baby Sickler Has Arrived!

Burke Steven arrived on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 7:32 am. He came very quickly as we arrived at the hospital at 5:30am and he was born about two hours later. He weighed in at 7lbs, 7 3/4 oz and was 19 inches long. He is healthy and happy and we are all adjusting to our new lives as a family of four. Big brother Brayden is very helpful and loves to hug and kiss his little brother. He even came up with his own nickname for Burke, "Peanut Nose." We're not sure where he came up with that one, but he thinks it's cute.
